The Department of Hispanic Studies has expanded its expertise in Bilingual Legal Interpreting programs to address the growing need for interpreters in the medical realm.

State funded institutions are required to provide equal language access to all persons receiving their services. Health care facilities are faced with too few qualified interpreters to meet their needs. This program will prepare proficient bilingual speakers in the essential areas of language, culture, and ethics so that they will be able to provide professional services in all health care settings.
