Master of Education in Languages
As the only Master of Education in Languages degree offered in South Carolina, this program is intended for advanced students of languages and cultures who seek intellectual and professional growth through study and research at the graduate level.
Designed for part-time students (one to two courses per semester), the M.Ed. in Languages is structured to meet the demands of working professionals with classes offered in the late afternoon, evening and summer. Students in this program have the option of creating a curriculum that best suits their career aspirations by concentrating their studies in Spanish or English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL).
Class sizes are kept small to maximize the educational experience and facilitate access to talented faculty members with a distinguished record of scholarly research. Additionally, these professors are highly involved in the teaching of languages at the state and national levels. Accordingly, the College of Charleston is recognized as among the best institutions in the Southeast for language education.
