Office of the Dean
Message from Dean Antonio D. Tillis
¡Saludos! I am delighted to greet you as the Dean of the School of Languages, Cultures and World Affairs (LCWA). We are a School that is steeped in the long tradition of providing an exceptional interdisciplinary, liberal arts education with a focus on the world and on the rich history of the Low Country. Thus, it is our collective objective to connect the College of Charleston to the world, and the world to the College of Charleston.
As the Dean of LCWA, I am excited about the opportunities that lie ahead. With a new President and an impending launch of the capital campaign, the opportunities for positioning LCWA’s priorities are ripe, as internationalism and cultural awareness are pivotal to the identified aspirational goals of the College. What this means for you as a College of Charleston student in LCWA is the enriching of your academic experience in terms of curricular, co-curricular and international engagement. As we forge ahead, I look forward to exciting possibilities as we strive to build an even stronger LCWA in the years to come.
Finally, and on behalf of our world-class faculty, staff and currently enrolled students, thanks for spending virtual time with us via our website! I am certain that your intellectual curiosity will be piqued as you delve into the range of courses and opportunities for domestic and international engagement offered through our many departments and programs. Let us know if we can respond to inquiries that you might have about what we do and the breadth of our academic and extra-curricular offerings. ¡Nos vemos pronto!
All the best,
